Title: WMS 400
Post by: RATTLER on August 17, 2015, 06:06:47 AM
WOULD ANYBODY KNOW THE WIRING FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC BUTTON FOR A WMS 400. I BELIEVE SOME WIRES COME OFF BECAUSE THERE IS ONLY 1 WIRE CONNECTED TO THE CENTER TERMINAL. AND WHEN I PUSH IT I GET NOTHING & I BELIEVE IT SHOULD TAKE ME IN THE ADMIN. MODE. THERE ARE WIRES HANGING NOT CONNECTED

The red wire and the black/white wire should be the ones attached to the diagnostic button, the others just hanging.....

Here's the way it is on my machine. The extra wires you have probably go to the card cage security switch (it might be removed in your machine). The security switch is shown in this photo but the wires are disconnected. On the pushbutton diagnostic switch the wires go to the center terminal and the Normally Closed (N/C) terminal. That way they BREAK contact when the diag button is pressed. Your diag switch could be mounted a different way so don't assume the switch terminal on the left is the correct one. The terminal labels (N/O,  C,  N/C) should be written on one side of the metal part of the switch. Both wires connecting to the switch should come from the same harness (mine says "P3"). The other wire harness is for the security switch.

yes, but in this case it wouldn't matter if they are reversed, circuit would still work the same way.
