Multi-Denom Button Issues
« on: November 22, 2019, 01:38:35 AM »
I have a s2000 9 Line 3 Reel 10c (90 max credit) S2000 and trying to convert to multi denomination, i got the 4 different credit options set up where you can see them on the screen but the unused wired extra switch is not toggling the credit value or light up,  Is there something i am missing? need to do change a jumper or???

unrelated i assume the only way i could get the 4 different denomination credit options to show on
the main screen is by assigning each credit option it’s own touch pad button number even though i do not have or plan to use a touch pad

You probably have a 6-6-3 display. I'm pretty sure you can only use the wired extra panel button with a 5-5-2. You will have to get a touch panel board or change the display to a 5-5-2 to be able to use the panel button.

based on my research on here it appears the 6-6-3 display you can use a touch panel with, but the 5-5-2 you cannot? but it’s not very clear when you can or can’t use the extra button. I don’t understand why the button would be there if you can’t use it?

Not sure I understand your question.
5-5-2 uses the button on the panel.
6-6-3 uses the touch pad on the reel glass.
It is one or the other.
Your machine probably does not have the original parts it was built with.
Maybe the panel was changed  or the display was changed at some point. The S2000s have been operating at least 15 years or more so to think your machine's configuration is the same as when it left the factory is probably not a good theory.
Open the door and take a look at the plug going to the 6-6-3 display that you have. Is there an adapter plug with short pigtail? If there is chances are it originally had a 5-5-2 display.
Bottom line 6-6-3 touchpad,  5-5-2 panel button.

Look at the LCD. Does it have 6,6 & 3 digits or 5, 5 & 2? There are other ways. Look in the key chip config it will be identified in KEY chip II. LED denom light box is 6-6-3, Metal brackcet is 6-6-3. Plastic is 5-5-2. 5-5-2 uses a controller board & ribbon harness for the VFD. 6-6-3 does not. If you still can't figure that out post a picture.
Quality doesn't cost. It pays.

I go back to this post because I find myself in the same configuration, I have a 6-6-3 screen and multi-denom button without touch pad.

if I set in keychip 2 screen 5-5-2 will it work?
and if so, my jackpot is 100,000, will this cause me a problem in the event of a max win?

thank you.
