I put the ekey7 in one of the 2 USB ports of my G23.

Screen says verifying ekey, do not remove.

DOORS C F & M are showing open in the corner.

Then it just sits there on the game screen.

I then turn the attendant key to access the menu.

I still can not change any settings, says "higher authentication required"

What am I doing wrong?

Make sure there are no credits on the machine.

Does the roller switch behind the logic door still have something stuffed in it or did your CPU have a thumb latch for the logic door?

Open the access door on the cpu and remove the paper or whatever is behind the metal "L" if there is something in there coving the rocker switch. Remove and reinsert the Ekey. Make sure there are no credits on the machine.

Thatâ€™s the first think Iâ€™d check too, but you said your â€œCâ€ door indicator is open on the screen. Could your toggle switch be down instead of up maybe? Never tried the ekey with it down.

I remove the paper and the C L and M door are open on screen.

No credits on machine.

Switch is up.

Machine reset when I lowered switch.

Corrupted ekey? I mean, it says verifying, but it never gets to validation.

Im wondering if the person sent me a different ekey? So I put the ekey in and nothing happens. Then I press the white test button and I'm able to change some settings I normally can not, such as what info goes on a printed ticket. However when I go to enable or disable game it says at the top "options can not be changed"

What do each ekey do?

You should be able to change ticket info anytime you want by pressing the white button without ekey7 and no credits. Post a pic of your ekey7. Sounds like you may have a ekey 3, 4 or 5?

Ok, so Im back to thinking the ekey I got is defective. I thought I got into normally locked settings because I pressed the white button "with" the ekey in. I never pressed it b4 so I thought it was the key.

Hope you did not stick it in a computer. You will corrupt it if it is indeed an ekey000007. You never posted a picture.

I never placed in a PC, have no reason too.

I'm starting to think the person I got it from messed it up and tried passing it off on me.

You can see what the system sees by looking at the device version screen. Turn the jackpot reset key, then insert the ekey and then go to version and then devices. If you have a valid ekey, it will list it along with a description of which ekey it is.

It showed the slot machine devices, just not the ekey.

If nothing is showing up, then you may have a bad e-key. It is strange that the game displays the verifying ekey when you insert it, but nothing is shown in the device version screen. I have never seen that behavior before.
