Title: Bally Alpha 2 Cabinet Bumpers
Post by: tommyxv on May 28, 2020, 06:17:10 AM
I have 4 Bally machines where most of these lower door stops are either hard as a rock or falling apart.  I assume over time they just degrade.  It took me a while but I finally located identical replacements with the built in metal washer.  https://www.slotmachineforum.com/threads/bally-alpha-2-cabinet-bumpers-door-stops-new.196/ (https://www.slotmachineforum.com/threads/bally-alpha-2-cabinet-bumpers-door-stops-new.196/)

Interesting,  I didn't even know they existed!  My A2 V32 just has the screw plate left over, not a sign of a rubber stopper.  My V22/22 doesn't even have the screw holes for it, so I guess they were either deprecated, or put on at a later date than what I have.  I have a few other things that use similar rubber stoppers, I will take whatever you have left.  pm me total.

They were probably added later.  My guess is they prevent the door hinge from being over extended and possibly damaged. And to cushion accidental door drops.  I'm always changing games so opening and closing these lower doors is common for me.

I started seeing little black pieces on my carpet.  After a few days, I finally figured out it was the right stop on my V22/32.  The other one was starting to decay too.  I checked my 3 other machine and they were hard as a rock.  Sent ya a PM.
