Title: Bally alpha software questions
Post by: LMAOallday on May 30, 2015, 05:24:20 PM
Hello again.  I have a couple of Bally Alpha questions.  1) Is there a list somewhere on NLG that will tell what OS I would need for a particular game? And 2) is there a way to look at the part number and tell if the game requires reels or if it's video? For example AVGQPB701700-00 (Quick Hits Platinum  Blazing 7's ) vs. ASGQHBG01001-01 (Quick Hits Black and Gold ).

Matching OS and games don't matter. I run OS 341 and ALL ALPHA 1 games will work on that OS. 336 also. OS for Bally is dependent on the BIOS not game.

What OS are you running?

For older part numbers:

AV = Alpha Video
AS = Alpha Stepper
AT = Alpha Transparent

Part numbers that START with "B" is Class 2 games. Beware of sellers selling those, unless they re-flash them.

Newer games are all numbers followed by a letter. example 300454A... Can't tell what that is so go to Bally's website and enter that in the game search. If nothing comes up that means they don't offer that game anymore. The "A" at the END is the revision number. I have two versions of Emerald Falls 300454A and 300454B.
