If More Chilli still shows a blank screen on boot it's the same old emulator from 2004, which has been hacked to death since then. Something that can emulate the actual (real) system is needed in place of the ancient Win32 stuff, that way newer chips (and therefore newer games) including the USA platform can be run. In other news, a boatload of MK5 titles have recently been added to MAME, replacing a number of bad dumps as well as adding a few unique games. They still run at double speed however they are fully playable once they have been set up, although MAME considers them to be not working due to incomplete emulation (e.g. some games freeze after a number of spins requiring them to be reset, and older games for the USA platform can crash completely during a hand pay, which requires a memory reset, in other words, running a set chip, hitting cashout+service in the set chip menu and going back to the game to reset the memory error). |
