Hey everyone,
I have a Konami Video Upright that just went randomly into a 923 software error. I replaced the MPU and even got new software CF. After doing a hard ram clear and setting up the new software I still get the same error message. Any ideas?

Maybe make a youtube video and post the link to it here?
Some guys might pick up something during the boot up routine on the screen and help you out.
Sounds really like incompatible software issues.
Also post all the software numbers installed including jurisdiction/bios chips?

I've taken another look at it and reseated a few more things still got nothing. The game was up and running for months before with the old software and it just went down with that 923 error. We got brand new software in and replaced it after putting a new MPU in. Setting everything back up it came right back to that same error it had with the old software. But we'll keep working on it and if we come up with anything I'll post an update. Thank you once again. :thank_you:

Just checking back in. Did you ever fix this error? I just got the same issue after the machine was working fine. I am curious if you were able to fix it.

You need to ram clear it but before you actually do that take out the motherboard and put it back it after making sure all eprom are set in and not bent if it doesn't work after that then you need to ram clear it and you should be good to go or your battery maybe getting old

Thanks for the reply. No luck. I have tried everything you mentioned with no luck. I ordered a new CPU board. That will be here this weekend. hopefully that gets me back up and running.

Saw this maybe helpful The "923" error by itself is pretty universal to konami.[/size]If a plain reboot doesn't do it, then reseat items, PS video, eeproms, cards, memory, followed by ram clear if required. Oh and if it's still not running post ram clear, then replace video card, diagnostically they can be cold swapped without a ramclear, and that's done on occasion at work.
