Bought this machine for parts and was curious if someone knows what exactly it is? Screen obviously says AVP but it requires a CD ROM to apparently function.
Was told it would be very unlikely to find the CD. I got what I wanted out of it so was wondering does the "CPU" have any value?

Can't answer your question , but that looks like an S2000/Barcrest top box. Is the backplane in the top box the same as what was used in the S2000's? Can the top box be moved straight over to an S2000 to make it a working top dollar machine? With the addition of the proper software, top award glass and reel strips ofcourse. Seems like an unusual machine in any case. Allnthe AVP Top Dollar machines I've seen used LCD top boxes

Here is the circuit board in the top box. Looks like a distribution box with some USB slots.
Exactly what I did (made a working machine). I was able to use the top box display, buttons, and LED panel directly behind the glass to complete a partial machine I had waiting in limbo for these parts.

Here is a much better picture of the finished machine.

Good job, nice machine! I'm really surprised they went to the trouble of integrating an S2000 top box into an AVP machine

Thanks. I lucked out and traded some parts for brand new glass and reel strips.

Old 2.0/2.5 avp box, The software loads from the cd-roms onto the hard drive. Someone may want it, It is not worth alot. As far as server Based, The boot chips determine that -which can be changed to regular stand alone if needed. This old box is the one you have to install the jumper on the 6-pin molex on front of box to use write/enable and has the external video etc.

The 2.0s could also use thumb drive installers, just an fyi.
