HI, i have a bartop alpha game maker HD that has a unibutton usb issue. after a setup of the machine it gives a lost connection issue, but never before . so if i do a clear and nothing set yet i can do diagnostics etc and no issue. once i play it a few times it keeps doing a lost connection, then goes away then back again. i have replaced the MPU and the USB button panel card and same problem. Hope someone has run into this before! thanks!

Have you replaced the USB cable?

yes, twice just to be sure.

Have you checked your power supplies? The button's panel's usb controller is powerd by the cabinet, you may have a power issue, or your harness could be flaky.

thanks for the info, so far this is what i have done and what i noticed. i have swapped out
power supply
button usb unibutton unit
software
bios
region chip ( had a tribal one originally)
backplane
usb cable
now here is the odd thing, everytime i clear the nvram and start setting it up. IF i goto the cabinet diags i can use all buttons no issue whatsoever. after i setup the games or even 1 game as soon as i put a dollar bill in for credits and play 1 game or 2 is when the error happens. almost like when the button lights kick in it goes nuts.

You ever find a fix?? I have a machine that plays fine but it will reset randomly and before the reset it says unibutton lost comm error?

yes, it ended up being one of the 2 buttons themselves, not the controller. unfortunately bar top buttons were impossible to find so i moved the guts into a upright and works great now.
