Hello,
I have just recovered a broken IGT Vision CRYSTAL FIVES.
(https://newlifegames.com/nlg/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.subaudio.org%2Fflipjuke%2FMAS%2FCrystal_Fives%2F20210114_204559_TH.jpg&hash=ecaf5bd8006f584b8f4c01e235a2e667f18a75eb) (http://www.subaudio.org/flipjuke/MAS/Crystal_Fives/20210114_204559.jpg)
When I take out the MPU I realize that there is no Stepper Base in U21 ???
GME chips are: SG000093
Compact flash card: ATA 10049 BGM00033
When I look in my list, BGM00033 = DOUBLE DIAMOND BONUS WHEEL
What is the correct Stepper Base chip? I couldn't find the correct name in my list?
I also have a Vision Double Ringer which has the same paytable.
DOUBLE RINGER
(https://newlifegames.com/nlg/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.subaudio.org%2Fflipjuke%2FMAS%2FCrystal_Fives%2FPaytable_Double_Ringer_TH.jpg&hash=ee05b0ebfe509ac8a21676d3b742f71b7d7cc37d) (http://www.subaudio.org/flipjuke/MAS/Crystal_Fives/Paytable_Double_Ringer.JPG)
CRYSTAL FIVES
(https://newlifegames.com/nlg/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.subaudio.org%2Fflipjuke%2FMAS%2FCrystal_Fives%2FPaytable_Crystal_Fives_TH.jpg&hash=b21b6174e1d71a9d3e010279973b5c16af921cd0) (http://www.subaudio.org/flipjuke/MAS/Crystal_Fives/Paytable_Crystal_Fives.JPG)
For the 2 games the Top Award is 5,000 credits.
I have tried several combinations of SBxxxxxx and SGxxxxxx and finally succeeded in resetting the machine, but it is still not functional.
(https://newlifegames.com/nlg/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.subaudio.org%2Fflipjuke%2FMAS%2FCrystal_Fives%2FDSCN6457_TH.jpg&hash=2b715141fa3637713eca87548aa7440bdab6eff9) (http://www.subaudio.org/flipjuke/MAS/Crystal_Fives/DSCN6457.JPG)
(https://newlifegames.com/nlg/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.subaudio.org%2Fflipjuke%2FMAS%2FCrystal_Fives%2FDSCN6458_TH.jpg&hash=22f5394afb1c97c45853886dfeecf740ab8d24c2) (http://www.subaudio.org/flipjuke/MAS/Crystal_Fives/DSCN6458.JPG)
I think the SB000090 chip seems to match. In any case in the paytable test the symbols of the Crystal Fives correspond to the table of the Double Ringer
(https://newlifegames.com/nlg/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.subaudio.org%2Fflipjuke%2FMAS%2FCrystal_Fives%2FDSCN6459_TH.jpg&hash=2602b18d6f1473b40c1198d4a43d0c8024fe15e1) (http://www.subaudio.org/flipjuke/MAS/Crystal_Fives/DSCN6459.JPG)
(https://newlifegames.com/nlg/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.subaudio.org%2Fflipjuke%2FMAS%2FCrystal_Fives%2FDSCN6460_TH.jpg&hash=52eb6e617c1a700f9bbcf86d4038cd151ce416be) (http://www.subaudio.org/flipjuke/MAS/Crystal_Fives/DSCN6460.JPG)
It's weird because I can go into the menus and set the machine (name, machine type, game…).
But when I close the door I have a red screen.
(https://newlifegames.com/nlg/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.subaudio.org%2Fflipjuke%2FMAS%2FCrystal_Fives%2FDSCN6456_TH.jpg&hash=6d659c8ba166fdf785409293e4d2668f9099377c) (http://www.subaudio.org/flipjuke/MAS/Crystal_Fives/DSCN6456.JPG)
And this message on the VFD: PROTOCOL MISMATCH
(https://newlifegames.com/nlg/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.subaudio.org%2Fflipjuke%2FMAS%2FCrystal_Fives%2FDSCN6455_TH.jpg&hash=2b0a96d1e0d16555ae903fe2d553574737cf20f3) (http://www.subaudio.org/flipjuke/MAS/Crystal_Fives/DSCN6455.JPG)
Is it the flash card that is corrupted or is it because they are not the right chips ?
Thanks
-
Have you tried 5x pay bonus spin SB000139??
-
I don't have the SB000139.
-
Me neither :24: I do know that all vision SB's start with SB00xxxx or maybe even SB000xxx. Elvis and Bunker are the vision guys.
-
Try SB000102. I think it's a clone of the same game.
:mail:
-
SB000113 might work too.
I have it listed as a Diamond Fives Bonus Spin SB chip.
Of course, I'm not sure...I've never tried this game.
-
I would try sg248's or 380's. Your screen is telling you it has the wrong bgm for the SB chip. The vision SB's are 76 or77 and maybe the bonus spin bgm 6. 138 and 139 are not vision chips
-
May I see a photo of the BGM PCMCIA card you're using?
I want to see if it's an original or a fake.
Show me the label too?
Both sides.
If that card was ever inserted into a computer with an OS newer than Windows XP, it will leave a small 1 to 4 byte file onto the CF card...corrupting the checksum needed to match up with the SB chip you're using....providing the SB is the correct one to start with.
-
Thank you all for your responses!
Thanks to Ron :cool_thumb_up: I'm going to try 2 different chips, SB000102 and SB000139.
Regarding the ATA Flash card I think it is original, I have never read it on a PC. Nothing certain, however, with the previous owner.
On the other side is the blue sticker indicating the size: 20 MB
(https://newlifegames.com/nlg/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.subaudio.org%2Fflipjuke%2FMAS%2FCrystal_Fives%2FBGM00033_flash_card.jpg&hash=db74f24c6ac0d036508b9c79be30c061d3e8b3e8)
-
I agree.
It appears to be an OEM IGT Vision compact flash (CF or PCMCIA) card.
I hope those SB chips work with it.
-
I have tried with SB000102 and SB000139 chips and still have the same problem.
I think my ATA flash card is corrupted or formated/empty ???
Here are the steps I do:
- Clear RAM with IVC00097 ok with the 2 orange diodes.
- Setting up the Stepper Base (102 or 139)
- Normal initialization, 4 reset key strokes + white switch + door closing.
- Call attendant… door opening then 3 reset key strokes.
The red screen appears.
Setting up the keychip 45. I can fix everything. The keychip menu appears on the LCD, I set the name, machine type etc….
I leave the menu and close the door.
The LCD screen turns blue with the message "There is a problem with the machtine, call attendant"
(https://newlifegames.com/nlg/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.subaudio.org%2Fflipjuke%2FMAS%2FCrystal_Fives%2FDSCN6457_TH.jpg&hash=2b715141fa3637713eca87548aa7440bdab6eff9) (http://www.subaudio.org/flipjuke/MAS/Crystal_Fives/DSCN6457.JPG)
Below is the boot sequence of the LCD screen BEFORE the screen turns red.

When you get to the blue screen where it says "There's a problem...." and close the door, what happens?
Does the screen change to a blue watery, pool liner-like screen that says "Please Wait..." ?
Another reason for your "red screen of death" might be your extended ram memory stick...I use 48kb on my top box LCD computer.
I see yours is only at 31,744 kb.
Some games need the 48kb sticks to run correctly.
Since you can get into the menus, try this...>>>
In Setups, go to Logs and Version Logs and show us what's in there.

Nothing at all...stay on "There is a problem..."

Never seen this screen.
And for information, all the components are ok because I installed my other game kit and everything works (Double Ringer).

Ok, I will add more from another machine.

Soon
-
Most likely the sb, BGM combination. Possibly an old ata#
-
I only have 16mb rams, even on the other machine. So I can't try with 48MB.
But I think the previous owner didn’t touch the ram sticks.

Is the card in the top slot? Some of the cards will insert front or back. Will only work one way. Just a thought.
-
Yes, In the top slot.
I will immediately try the side port
-
Nothing changes. It does exactly the same problem.
-
Thanks for the pictures...helps...a little lol
That's what I do, I check everything to see what the machine is seeing.
Looks like it's "seeing" everything you installed.
The biggest clues are the messages in the red screen of death and on the VFD screen that said "Protocol Mismatch"
9 times outta 10 "Protocol Mismatch" means that the BGM is not matching up the checksum value from the SB chip.
What ALWAYS sucked on the Vision platform and the platform afterwards is that neither software "device" tells us what matching SB, BGM, or strips to use!!!
I've always was disappointed about that in the Vision platform - it's so hard to find out what matches with what.
I started a huge undertaking a couple of years ago trying to make a Master Vision List and asking all Vision owners to send me all their Vision software setups and matching strip numbers.
I got a lot of responses from different owners and vendors from around the world but it's still not complete by any means.
I will add everything you've tried to the Master List on this game that hasn't worked.
Hopefully we'll have a better answer for you from a Crystal Fives Bonus Spin machine owner.
To be honest with you, there really isn't a whole whole lot of Visions out there that are on NLG....my search for Vision owners and more info on software and strip setups continues...
I do understand that there are quite a few Vision owners on your side of the pond....if you know any, could you direct them here ? That would be awesome!
-
Thanks a lot for all these informations.
I no longer have a problem with the S2000s with the many information I found on NLG but also by putting machines back into service and doing tests.
Yes I noticed that there was no game correspondence file with the chips.
For the S2000 it exists and I do like you, I update it as I find new data.
Here is what I have that works in combination with SB chip and flash card for Vision slot.
DIAMOND FIVES DOUBLE RINGER 3R 2C 1L
SB000090
SG000166
ATA10061 BGM00034
Strip AAB 84608000 - 84608000 - 84609000 no backlit
MATA HARI 3R 45C 9L
SB000936
SG000621
ATA10065 BGM00179 (+ side card without indication)
Strip ABC xxxxxxxx - 84667100 - xxxxxxxx no backlit (xxxxxxxx=the strips are too stuck)
I don't know if I will find the missing SB chip, I will try to find the phone of the previous owner ... with a little luck he will have taken a picture of the MPU ...
-
Thanks for these two setups...I will add them if I don't already have it in there already.
If you PM me your email address, I will try to give you a copy of the List I'm putting together.
Last year I made a bunch of CD's and mailed them out to different Vision owners.
I will try to make some more soon.
-
:agreepost: :thank_you:
It's still incredible that IGT never made the same document for the Vision while there is a file for the S2000 with the name of the games with the SB chip numbers ... :Scratch-Head:
-
oh...they probably made one Nurbo...we just don't have it! :rotfl:
-
And nobody on NLG works at IGT hahahaha :24:
-
:mail: Sent something to ya.
Lemmie know if you see any other Vision software combos that work with strip numbers.
-
Thank you Stayouttadabunker :1:
I continue my research, I contacted the previous owner, I await his response.
I found the reel strip at Spininc based on the reference. I know this is not specifically the truth but they say "S-Plus"? Strange, isn't it?
http://www.spininc.com/igt-reel-tape-crystal-five-times-pay-84619300 (http://www.spininc.com/igt-reel-tape-crystal-five-times-pay-84619300)
Can Crystal Fives on Vision use SB001000 + SS chips? :Scratch-Head:
-> Diamond Fives?
-
You can use a 5x pay SB for a standard 3 reel play.
-
Hello Ken,
Ok, but what kind of plateform do you think ? S-Plus chips ou S2000 chips ?
After read the entire S2000 chips list, I found another potential number.
--> SB000076 FIVE TIMES PAY BONUS WHEEL 3 REEL VISION 2 CM
Then there are these:
SB000056 FIVE TIMES PAY
SB000113 DIAMOND FIVES BONUS WHEEL
SB000138 FIVE TIMES PAY BONUS SPIN
I managed to contact the previous owner and he remembers touching the chip and he doesn't remember where he put the missing chip ... :duh: :duh: he has to look in his workshop ... :sherlock:
-
I'm not sure what you're asking. You cannot run a vision theme with an SS chip.
There is an S plus theme called baseball. It is a standard three-wheel slot. It was not carried over to the S2000 platform. In this case you would have to run the SS chip with an SB001000.
-
Very well noted, thank you.
I am new to the Vision platform and I did not know if the S-Plus chips were mounted on it. Now I know that is not possible.
-
I think I found the information I was looking for. I found an old post on NLG.
http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=24469.0 (http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=24469.0)
It is indicated SB000076 for the Crystal Fives. In addition it indicates that the Stepper Games are SG000093 like on my MPU.
I feel that I approach the restarting of this machine
-
Gee, I wrote you needed 76 (2 coin) or 77 (3 coin) way back in this thread
-
I would try sg248's or 380's. Your screen is telling you it has the wrong bgm for the SB chip. The vision SB's are 76 or77 and maybe the bonus spin bgm 6. 138 and 139 are not vision chips
You're right !!!! :1:
You're really the King !!!
I don't understand why I didn't pay attention to your answer ... but yes you were right.
-
Do you have an SB000076 or SB000077 to use?
Also, I don't think it matters much but Sovereign was using SG000093 pairs for his three Vision machines at the time.
Over here in the USA, we try to use the SG000248 or SG000380 pairs.
You may notice I'm typing out all the zero's in this Reply....this is because this is actually the correct way to describe the chip numbers.
IGT programmers used 6 digit numbers back then.
I also noticed that the overseas Vision machines tend to use the older SG chips a lot...but I think it's just because the vendors didn't remove the original SG chips when the machines were shipped over there from Nevada.
Anyway, I will search for an SB000076/77 Monday morning if you don't have them.
-
Thank you because indeed I do not have the SB000076 or the SB000077.
Machines on our continent are less common than in your country because the legislation is really very different and sellers should certainly not bother with that ... as long as the machines are working ... :Tongue_Out:
-
Hello,
While waiting to find the SB000076 chip, I test the MPU and more generally the machine.
I installed the Hundred Or Nothing game kit. I find it very nice and it changes the usual game kit.
I didn’t remove the reel strips because they are stuck well and I’m still hopeful of relaunching this Crystal Fives machine!

Jim it is the same bonus wheel game that all the other ones use.. I have a few of them. you hit the bonus wheel on the last reel strip and the game plays. A wheel comes up with different prizes on it. The light goes around the wheel and where ever it stops that is your prize. I have the Triple Diamond Deluxe Bonus Wheel.
-
Thank you for all those informations !
I have finally found the sB000076 chip all this time, I will post a video of the machine with the bonus mode soon.
-
I know it's an old post but you haven't shown us it works yet Nurbo!! :fryingpan: :rotfl:
-
hahaha, you are absolutely right!
I'm trying to do that this weekend!
-
Hi,
Here is finally this machine repaired and on video.
As I suspected the bonus mode is quite simple and not very spectacular.
This is the first video: https://youtu.be/jZk6JZdpNJI (https://youtu.be/jZk6JZdpNJI)
And a few minutes after the first video, I've had the biggest bonus, it was the first time : https://youtu.be/4eqUzhcVlQ4 (https://youtu.be/4eqUzhcVlQ4)
-
haha! That's Awessome Nurbo!
Glad to see you've got it working! :cool_thumb_up:
