Title: IGT s2000 power supply
Post by: sg 777 on June 09, 2022, 12:36:47 PM
I have a IGT s2000. Power went off one day, just started searching for issue. Had wire disconnected from power on/off switch. After reconnecting that loose wire now the power supply clicks and lights on MPU flash but nothing past that. Any ideas on this?

I never experienced anything like that, but I would re-examine the connections on that switch and the switch itself. Be sure the switch is working and the connections are clean. Be sure your power cord is in good condition and well seated. Reseat the power supply. Next I would confirm your AC voltage input and that you have 12 & 24 volts coming out of that power supply.

You might also have to open up the PS and see how the capacitors are doing.
If they look bloated or swollen, something was being overworked...for example, a clogged fan.

You have something shorted. Retrace the areas you were working on for pinched wire . Or Start disconnecting printer, BV, ballast

Ok, So fiddling through wiring, game has now started working with issues. Belly light works, rewards glass on top light works, light on door above reels does not have power. Game keeps going into reel tilts, and lights on mpu go off after game loads. 3v battery was loose on board, I resoldered it.

While reels are spinning, open door, turn J/P key. they should stop, close door, they should do normal spin ready for play

Tried, over and over. Keep ending up with same scenario

So you turn the key and they stop? Then close the door and they spin slow again? Or do they try to spin first? Does it say anything in the vfd about door open?

Check your door optics or bypass them

Try leaving the door open when you boot up

Should MPU lights go off while game is on?

Yes. On 50X MPUs, they should start with 3 on while booting, and then go off and stay off.
