Hello all! I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me with a problem im having on a triple double diamond machine i got. First thing is upon power up all lights will work for few seconds. After a few seconds the reel lights and top box lights go off and belly light goes dim. Second is the reels do not match pays. Any help from you all would be very helpful!! Thank you and I appreciate you all as well as the site!

Do you have an S+ or S2000 machine? Any pictures? (must be 1000x1000kb or smaller)
-
I believe the s-2000

So update is I figured out the pays matching the reels. They had the strip on #1 reel on wrong. Still having problems with the light issue. Any help would be awsome!! :hissyfit:

Disconnect the 24Vdc power going to the fluorescent light ballasts. A bad ballast can cause issues. If the reel lights work, then you can plug in the ballasts one at a time to determine which one is causing the problem. Rule #1 turn machine off before disconnecting or connecting anything. If the problem still persists you might have a bad power supply or it might not be making an adequate connection. Sometimes they just get slid into place without tightening the thumbscrew. It is located behind the reels.

I pulled the reel and the bolt was way loose. Now the lights stay on longer but then shuts off. Where would the plug be located?
-
Just follow the wires from the florescent light. There will be a connector someplace. Unplug this.
On a S+ The ballast's look about the size of a quarter but are a small can - push in and twist and they pop out. I suspect the S2000 should be the same. Removing the ballast would basically be the same as disconnecting. If you have to replace the ballast this will be necessary anyways.

The "small can" in an S Plus is a starter NOT a ballast. S2000 uses an electronic ballast and no starter.
Unplug power from the input side. Following the wires from the light to the ballast is fine for locating it but it need to be disconnected from the input side. See pic.

Thank you. Yes i found the location of all 3 of those boxes. I took the belly glass box Wich stayed on the entire time and switched it with the reel lights wich then made the reel lights work correctly. I then switched it with the top box light wich didnt work at all and it worked correctly. So mabey i need 2 new ballast? Also I noticed the fan is not coming on.

Yep a couple of ballasts and you should be in business. If the fan is plugged in and not working, I would unplug it for now and either replace it or do without. It doesn't really get too hot inside the top box. LED replacements for the fluorescents will generate less heat and some even bypass the ballasts.
-
Im gonna order those new ballasts and see how that goes. Im also gonna take your suggestion and look into getting led tubes. I really appreciate all the help and am hoping to be able to help others on here as well. Thank you all! :thank_you:

I have 3 LED tubes that bypass the faulty ballasts if you are interested LMK.

For sure! What you want for them?

I was tinkering with this machine playing it and I noticed that when the door is open and you kinda move your hand or arm across the coin tray plate you can feel like a little shock. Is this normal or am i in for another problem?
-
Not normal.
-
Something live is hitting the chassis.
Your probably going to see the same on the slot handle and door.
-
Thats what I figured. So must be a power issue shorting out somewhere?

Better pull out a multimeter and check 115VAC wiring on the fluorescent lights.
Make sure you're not standing bare feet in a puddle of water....haha

I am replacing all the lights with led upgrade. Hopefully thats the problem
-
If you unplug all the lights, you still getting shocked? :Scratch-Head:
-
I will go try that and see.
