game king with enhanced mpu. had coin out jam error, though there is no hopper. new coin and varta battery. machine option was showing a hopper and coin mech. key chipped machine, set up no hopper, no coin mech. worked like a charm for 1 day. next day, turn on, coin out jam. options again show hopper and coin mech. it must have lost its settings, and thats the default? both batteries test like new. zero acid damage. coin battery tight in holder. i remember once on a s2000 the little 8 legged memory chip on the back plane cause an issue, an new one solved it. dont remember the error. could this be the same thing? thanks

Yes, It could be a defective eeprom. Replace it with another 24c256. You will have to set it up again.
