Moisture Between Glass on BB3 (Transmissive)?
« on: August 05, 2022, 02:12:49 PM »
On my Spy vs Spy BB3, I just started playing it this week after waiting 3 months for parts (after it arrived). I'm not sure if I have a transmissive screen. My game has no overlays over the reels, so it's just clear on that part, but LCD screen (touchscreen) on the rest of the lower screen.

After a few hours on I notices this build up of moisture, which revealed some smudges of ?? as well. Wiping each side of the glass did not help...it's between 2 panes or something.

Anyone seen this before? I wonder if it will burn off with use. ...like it just needs to heat up a few times. ???

The "L" of LCD is liquid.  I have older laptops at work (OOC) that has something similar to this.  These laptop screens look like there are water droplets inside of it (only visible when screen is on).  The liquid started to leak out of the display.  While the water droplets in these laptops don't look like yours, it may in fact be that.

However, you said your moisture appeared after a few hours of being on.  That makes me think that the heat of the machine caused the display to fog up/make condensation.  The other theory I have is that it looks like someone used some sort of aerosol spray or cleaning liquid and the excess spray went down into the void between the glass and a film or between two panes(?!?) of the glass/display and then tried getting it out with possibly with compressed air but didn't fully get it out.

I am not 100% familiar with these machines so my theory may not be remotely correct.

Is that on the door glass or on the monitor glass? Or are they the same thing?

It's the door and monitor glass (same). and also, I have played the machine for a couple days after that. I have not seen it again. So that's good news!
