Bb3 Bb2 meter disabling without Mississippi JUR

Started this topic as I posted on an old topic and have some info to share. (Thanks to those who pointed me in the right direction)

Using a US based JUR still has a 1200 limit on jackpot hand pays so here’s how I went about it:

Replaced the 12pos male connector leading to the meters, adding 330 ohm 1/2 watt resistors jumped vertically (1-7, 2-8, 3-9, 4-10, 5-11, 6-12)

Digikey
connector # WM3705-ND
Resistor # A142692CT-ND
Terminal # WM22163CT-ND (I used 16AWG as I folded the resistor lead over to get a good contact and crimp)

No more clicking and no tilts!

Haven’t tested on my Bb2, but the harness and meters should be the same.

Using Columbia Jur for my Bb2/3 games and Jamaica for SG games to get rid of the jackpot hand pay.

Loving the setup now.

Just wanted to pass the info and say thank you again to those who guided me in this direction.

Any chance you can provide a photo of the mod?  I have just acquired a BB2e and plan to install a Columbia JUR but would love to also take care of the meter noise!

I did the same thing on my bb1. Purchased 12 pin mini molex connector and jumpered with 330  ohm 1/2 watt resistors and worked like a charm to disable my meters. I am using New Jersey jurisdiction

I take a small flathead screw driver and bust through the plastic screen on each meter and I put a few drops of super glue on the numbers.  As long as you don’t damage anything else the clicking stops but the best part is the machine still gets the signal that it thinks it’s turning the numbers

I'm afraid to point out that gluing the mechanical meter motors is a good way to shorten the life of a power supply.
The PSU is forced to try to overload the capacitor to push more amps out in attempt to turn the electric motors.
What is happening is same thing as a cabinet fan stuck with nicotine gunk?
The best solution would be to just get a MS or MD juri chip that doesn't need meters.

Did it for 7+ years on my other machines and no issues.

okay good...meter motors are pretty small...probably doesn't draw much amperage.
I just know that if a fan is stuck, you can pretty much say goodbye to the power supply.
