alpha1 v32 game options
« on: January 30, 2023, 07:57:22 AM »
I know it has been talked about before on ways to upgrade the alpha1 v32 to play different (newer) games.  The talk was more along the lines of "tell us what game you want to play and we will tell you how."  What newer games are able to be played on the v32 after a software and/or hardware update?  Looking to upgrade my a1 v32 machine to a game of the newer variety, but if it cannot be done then I most likely would throw it up for sale.

Thanks

U can upgrade the cpu, button panel, and backplane and play alpha 2 games including the firelink series games. I converted a 22/32 fireball cabinet and play alpha 2 games on it

yeah, i knew the backplane/cpu upgrade was doable if parts could be found at a decent price.  didn't know if it was only going to allow certain games to play.  unsure if i want to drop that much cash to upgrade a machine that most likely would also need a better screen to go with the newer and nicer games.  the hard part after the upgrades/updates would be finding software i guess.

I have a cpu and ideck available but no backplane, games are not too hard to find since most dont require a dongle. I have a decent collection of games, there alot of good titles available for alpha 2
