This is exactly what my cat does, although in different order. Left side of counter is first step to the fridge top, which then is her "ladder" to the top of the cabinets where her bed is. When she leaps back down from the fridge she usually "tours" the rest of the countertop, then jumps to my small kitchen island, then to the wine rack, sniffs all my hanging coffee cups, then finally back to the floor!
