Title: Not really a restoration, but a "refresh"
Post by: shortrackskater on May 05, 2019, 08:41:53 AM
This is a before (at the sellers house!) and after shot of the Sigma B9 video poker game I bought for a whopping $45.
It sat in someones side yard and garage for years and was filthy with grime - "smoke and coke" film! The machine powered up but every switch needed cleaning. All the wiring harness adhesive holds were rotted off as well. The inside was nearly as dirty as the outside. The laminate had peeled off and it took three tries to get it to stick. I finally ended up using a lot of regular household glue along each side lengthwise, using masking tape to hold it overnight. The belly glass was broken so I stole the other one from my non working B9. And the frame around it was losing all its chrome. So I sanded the hell out of it, masked it wall and spray painted aluminum colored enamel. Not perfect but it looks a lot better than before. The only problem electrically was the contacts and replacing bulbs. It works great now and is fun to play with the double down and wildcard feature.
