Title: MEI Questions
Post by: Delma on January 17, 2022, 07:58:38 PM
Sorry for the long post and all the questions ahead of time. Having a world of trouble with some Mars heads (6607) that have never been an issue before. Is there different flash software for the heads. I can take a MEI out of one machine and put it in another machine thats the same type and it not work. ALL 3 light stay on and it just keeps on cycling. Or it will cycle and get a green light then as soon as I close up the machine light goes away and it cycles again and again. All of my interface cards are the same. Ive tried swapping those too. But if I just put the MEI in the same machine I got it from then no issues at all. How can that be. I've never known to have to clear a machine to get bill acceptors working. Do I just need to flash the MEI again before I try to use it in a different machine? This is all a bit confusing and I cant seem to find the solution. Ive ordered 6 MEI heads and interface cards to see if that changes anything. These will all be for BB2 machines. Not having any issues with any other type of machine I have these in.

Bring the cash can along with the BV...especially if it has a RF interface card and it's searching for round white sticker inside on the bottom of the can.

If not, you have to turn off the RF tag by the MEI configurations.

You need special software & equipment to do this.

In other words, you have to re-flash the interface cards to be either turned off or program the mei bv to match the cash box tags.

Thanks. tried that as well. At least taking the cash box has me now stuck on a solid green light. Now when I close machine and try to feed bills it will accept, hold for a second and spit back out just to cycle again. Now I mean bill head, cashbox, and interface card were all pulled from the exact same type of machine directly next to it. Working and accepting bills with no issues what so ever. I don't understand it.

Check Backplane settings.

Check Backplane settings.

Well thank you for that. I'm not sure how that helped but it did. Looked at the backplane settings and they were set to mei. Took the jumper off and put it back exactly how it was. Then unplugged the red back harness and plugged it back it. Bill acceptor has been working every since. I'm not one to question anything that's not broken lol. I'll take this as a win. Thanks for the help.
