Need help finding out what type machine I have
« on: May 01, 2025, 06:48:20 PM »
Im new to the site and probably posting on the wrong topic, so pre-sorry. I bought a "Spin til you win 3-coin multiplier slot and I keep getting the error 61. Before I go any further, I need to know what kind of unit this is. S+ or S before I go and ask the any other questions. I have tried the reset trick several times according to the Knagl's guide but to no avail. So, before I post any error 61 questions, I would like to know what type of machine I have. Photos attached and thank you in advance. If the images go sideways, im gonna scream.

You held the button down that is next to the power switch for 7 seconds till it changed to 61-1 and the closed the door and turned the key and waited for it to boot up?

I should be more specific, I hold down the reset button and and 61 goes away for about 5 seconds then just comes back. I can’t get the 61.1 in order to try the jackpot reset

All I can tell you for sure is, that is an IGT S Plus machine. Did you get the 61 error solved?
I'll be the last to know

If it keeps going back to [61], get yourself a Clear chip and erase CMOS and 24C04 chip on the floor-mounted motherboard.
If you have a bill validator, you will need also a SET015 chip to enable it.
Contact member RB for these chips and instructions for using the Clear & SET chips are in this link...>>>

thank you for the responses. I did not get the issue resolved. I will look into getting the correct CMOS clear chip and report back. I do not have a bill validator on this unit.

Well, there was one in there at one time, but someone pulled it out before you got the machine, because the validator harness is hanging down from the black plastic power supply.

You need to take a better photo of that Frankenstein door optic bypass someone did on the right-hand side of the cabinet with the big toggle switch.
Show us where the wires are going from that toggle switch and if it's connected in any way to the optics on the shelf.
I think that toggle switch someone put there, bypasses the door optics?  :Scratch-Head:
What happens if you push that silver toggle switch down?
Watch the reel glass display as you push down the toggle switch.

Also, on the door itself, left of the display nearest the door latch, should be an emitter optic.
I think it was moved to the reel shelf (well attached against the right wall really) under that toggle switch.
I see a white cable zipped tied to the door harness on the hinges.

No BV, no hopper, optics are remounted, and there's a toggle switch mounted to a washer. It's setup to play in test mode for free play.

Maybe just try put the toggle switch mounted to the washer in the down position and press and hold the white button till it changes to 61-1. Then flip the toggle up and turn the attendant key on the outside by the pull handle.

ok, let me try to reply to everything from both stayouttadabunker and sunrise side. let me start off 1st by saying I brought a 4 slot machines in a package deal with no history on any of them except I was told 1 has a coin slot issue. Which one is a mystery.  This unit is the 1st unit I'm trying to get started. On the front of this unit is a sticker that says " this machine is free play only, amusement only. will not take tokens or cash". So it clearly was modded for home use. the Frankenstein toggle switch is a door bypass but they left the optics together right below it. I know the optics work because I turn the toggle off or down and the reset will not work unless I put a piece of plastic between the optics. I tried to trace the toggle switch prior to starting this endeavor but gave up as it connects in the door behind the coin insert to a green wire and a purple/black wire. I didn't want to start cutting zip ties to trace, so I left it at that and it works so when turned on or up.  Nothing happens when I turn on or off the toggle switch on the reel glass display. The only display I get is 61. I do not see an emitter optic on the door, I did see a cut zip tie where is probably was but I don't believe anymore. The cable zip tied to the door harness is actually 2 14 gauge white wires that go from the toggle switch and optics to the front door connecting to the green wire and the purple/black wire for the bypass. Guess that's all the wiring they had laying around to use. There is a hopper, I just had it out while taking photos. No bill validator and the bill collector door switch is cut and bypassed or just tied together. I have tried hitting the reset or white button with the toggle down 3 or 4 times in a row with no success. I have to put something between the optics 1st, otherwise hitting the white button does nothing. I have tried the same with the switch up and all it does is blinks out or there is no display for about 5 seconds, then 61 returns. So to be exact. I turn on the machine with the toggle up. The machine displays 61 after about 5 seconds. I hit the white button and within 1 second, the display goes blank, after about 5 seconds 61 returns. side note, the unit came with the jackpot reset key missing, so I did bypass it with a momentary switch which works when I press it. If its displaying 61 and I hit the jackpot reset or now momentary switch, I can go throught the settings menu ( if thats what its called ) I can go to number 2 or 3 and test the slots to get them to spin, and other things you can change but im not ready for that yet. Hope this answers all the questions and thank so much for the help/ responses.

OK. You will need clear and set chip as mentioned. The toggle switch is most likely connected to the optic wire circuit and acts as door open/close function, which you will use to clear 61 after you receive the clear chip.

I received the clear chip today and promptly began the process. After going step by step, the machine started up and is working properly. Tested the unit several times with no issues as of yet, Thank you everyone for your assistance. You can officially mark this post as SOLVED!!!!! I have many more questions but will start new post of those topics.
