Title: Handle assembly
Post by: Cleobud on May 20, 2023, 10:38:38 AM
Trying to replace the Formica on one of my S+ machines.  Was successful at removing the handle assembly but quite difficult to put back.  I had taken pics and all but the handle seems to just drop down.  There is one copper washer that I think goes directly behind the square section where the handle goes goes back in.   The handle works, just wondering if anyone may have an assembly sheet or pics of how these parts go back together.  THANK YOU for any help.

At the end of the handle arm is rectangular shape that must fall completely all the way into the seat hole of the shaft.
Then you put the washer and Allen key bolt onto the end and tighten.

Sometimes there's too much rust.
Take some sandpaper and get some of that rust off on the end of the arm.
Then pre-fit the arm into the shaft without the cover cap first and you'll see what I mean.

Understand so far what your saying but its this large copper washer I don’t know where it goes.  I have all the ones on the left to assemble the handle once in, but were does this large copper washer go?  Thank you,

I see one too many washers. Install the large copper one first then the tension washer, then the small steel flat washer and the C clip. It was not necessary to disassemble the mech just to remove it from the cabinet. Could it be that you left one of the internal ones out?
