Yes the dip switch test procedure worked and demonstrated that validator was working fine. After this I went into options again. It always said the bill acceptor was enabled. I disabled it, exited the menu and turned the game off. Powered back on, when into options and enabled the bill acceptor and tried the auto - configure again and this time it said bill acceptor installed and the game is now taking bills. So despite the sticker saying it was an id0003 it was in fact the correct type for IGT which is 1d0024. Thanks to everyone for your help especially Jim from Midwest Slots who spent time on the phone with me.

Now you can that ID0003 label off and mark it correctly as ID0024 right?
