Has anyone tried this?
-
Yes those work really well, I have replaced all of my reel lamps with these almost two years ago and have had no failures.
Nice and bright.
-
Yes, they look great. the strips really POP!
-
Thanks guys...
I'll be placing an order for a bunch of those LEDs soon.

Hello,
Be careful with the polarity !

The number "XE359" refers to a gas filled 12 volt incandesent lamp.(they were OK for reels, but would melt buttons).
These T-10 LED units come in 1 or 3 chip design. You want a wide dispersion type lamp or you wind up with a "Hotspot".
Since it is a "Strobed Matrix" you might see some glow even when it's supposed to be off, thats normal....\
Polarity.....inside the lamp is a diode, you wont kill the lamp or blow the I/O card...it just won't light up.

I'm getting that hot spot on the coin legend decal.
Any recommendation on a LED to use in that spot that spreads the light better?
-
hi isn't the reel bulbs 14volts and the leds 12volts
-
They are all considered 12V. Cars are 12 volts but will charge between 13.5-13.7 so there are no issues using the LEDs.
