Title: delayed reel spin
Post by: Bourree on May 15, 2017, 10:56:29 PM
hi folks.
i'm having a serious problem with my new slot.
sometimes when i pull the handle it delays the spin.
and you can pull again without using credits.
please watch the video here, https://youtu.be/pdCA_nNvm9o
it messes up twice and then starts working again.
any ideas ? what i can do to fix it?
thanks

Does it work ok if you play by pressing the Spin button and don't use the pull handle? If so then you can check the parts around the pull handle mechanism. I think there are a couple of microswitches in the pull handle mechanism and a locking solenoid, all are inside the machine on the right side wall where the pull handle axle comes inside the machine. One of those parts might be acting up or loose. Look up in there with a bright light and examine things, have someone slowly pull the handle as you are looking, maybe see what is happening.

Check the alignment of your door optics and that the optics assemblies are secured tightly to their mounts. One of them is jiggling loose sometimes when you pull the handle causing the machine to momentarily see the door as open. That's why the displays are going blank and then coming back. Also, the blinking "insert coin" lamp seen in your video is an indicator that the machine detected the door as open and then closed.

The other possibility related to that would be if there's an unsecured door for the dollar bill validator stacker (the "cash can" door) that's jiggling open and closed from the vibrations of the handle.

One last thought: ensure that the door latch is 100% all the way down when the door is closed.

I think this may have a lot to do with it and will check

thanks for both responses
