Title: Fire...Help needed from slot dealers
Post by: mn.roadking on February 11, 2017, 06:03:04 AM
My shop heater started on fire yesterday and 4  of my slots were victims.
Elvira's Secret, 19" 044
Munsters 3209 17" LCD, TITO, Hopper
Monster Mansion, 3209, 17" TITO
Pink Panther 3209 17" TITO
Can a slot dealer or 2 send me a replacement quote shipped to 56547?
I would very much appreciate it
(also lost, Addams Family and Scared Stiff pinballs)

None of the plastic parts look like they melted.  Have you tried to clean and power up?

Plastic monitor bezel warped somewhat, adjuster said "don't touch" until they get a good look. Should at least be able to salvage glass and game boards.

How does the insurance coverage work? If the ins company declares the machines ruined and makes a claim payout to you do they then own the machines, similar to totalling out a car?

Slots are too far gone to clean up. I will take glass and cpu/game out and dumpster the rest. I will be looking for cabinets to put the games in,(3) I-game 17" chop top and (1) I-game 19" round top. Not sure of insurance payout yet.

Bad luck.  Did the Monster Mansion glass survive?

When you get the ok, I'd check those machines over carefully. The far right one looks to have been closest to the fire, but you could still have many good parts to salvage if you can. Bill validators ticket printers, IO boards, etc. How bad were the pinballs damaged?

Opened them up, insides are toast, the soot is real corrosive. Tools in my toolbox are rusted solid, no water involved. Glass will probably be only salvageable items. Haven't looked in pinball machines yet, probably same thing.
