Title: Bally Alpha v22/22 errors after nvram battery replacements
Post by: fewpheonix on June 20, 2020, 03:20:49 PM
I just replaced both my nvram batteries in the cpu when I got nvram battery 1 and 2 low message. Rebooted machine with install card and game card inserted. It booted to install screen, but nothing showed up. That is happened before, so I just restarted. This time got an error message asking for complete system factory reset - said something about system not partitioned - wish I had taken a photo. Anyway, thought it might need a ram clear, mason ran the ram clear card. Tried to do install card and game card again, but now it keeps giving me error messages on black screens with either “no hard drive detected” or “ boot device other than first compact flash or disk”. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Here is a picture of the “No hard disk device present” message - which is what I am getting on startup each time now. I tried the install card on top and OS/bios card on bottom because I saw someone else was getting the insert other card error after accidentally doing a factory reset. Is there a way to do a factory reset without reaching the white install screen? My machine never reached the install screen at this point.

Check the power and S-ATA data cable on both the SSD and backplane to make sure they are securely plugged in on both ends.  Maybe when changing the batteries you accidentally loosened the connections.
