Title: Slow graphics
Post by: wmsbb2owner on March 24, 2016, 06:56:45 PM
Noticed a few times while in a bonus the graphic movement will slow way down and lag.  If I power off and reboot seems to come out of it.  I did notice the temp is running 105

Thoughts?

Does the machine have any cooling fans in the cabinet nearby or directly on the mpu board that may have stopped running?

All fans are running.

Yeah, I think it's a normal thing with some G+ Deluxe games.  I've seen it happen too.  Other games, it never happens.

What game did you see it happen with?

Do you have 2GB of memory and the latest bios?

Thanks,
Jason

I also wonder if an OLED panel can rob some CPU/memory since it is plugged into the MPU via USB compared to a standard button panel.

Thanks,
Jason

Interesting read about choppy graphics...check that USB cable and connection if you have an OLED button panel.

I see it happen more in the original WOZ Ruby slippers I see it happen during the bubble bonus.  No oled panel I took it out because WOZ is not compatible no door cover on the CPU.  The only thing connected to the USB is the audio amp

Moved the amp up to the topbox so far running at 95 degrees with hour of play

I think it's just the programming of the games. The early G+ deluxe, if you have the progressives turned on and they are both swirling (like they are almost ready to hit), the frame rate drops tremendously! Get a bonus and it's even worse. Once the progressives hit and they stop swirling, the frame rate returns to normal. For Kronos, I have the newer 512mb version of the game, and it doesn't seem to happen... like they improved it or something. I would love to find the 512 versions of Vampires Embrace and Queen of the Wild as those seem to have the worst frame rate drop issues.
