Anyone have a service manual regarding this?
-
Can you tell us what it's doing, or not doing? Any error codes? Did it work before?
Post a photo of the machine also.

Nothing wrong with the machine, just a total mystery. I’m hoping someone would be willing to share/sell a service manual if one still exists.

We just scanned a complete P&M manual. PM me with your email address and I will send it to you. Around 14 Mb in size.

Thanks for the manual but this is for newer machines(newer than mine anyways). My machine is circa 1984 so I’m still looking for a copy of an older manual.

Bump. Still looking for a copy of the manual for an older (1984) P&M Coin poker machine. Still trying to figure out how to reset the non-volatile RAM after replacement.

Any word on the Manuel? I’m in need of one

Nothing yet but hopefully the bump will help. My machine seems to have a problem with the NV ram.

Did someone email you a copy of a new Manuel?

Yes, the manual was for newer models than mine. Totally different, more advanced electronics. I don’t subscribe to NLG, maybe an older manual is in the archive? I don’t have access, I donate to keep the site going but only when i ask for/receive help. I don’t do much with gaming machines, just this one P&M.
Again the machine runs fine without the NV ram installed(6116 in its place). There’s no battery check so I have no idea if the zeropowers I bought are old and dead as well as the one on the board. I get a different number for ram clear each time I start the machine and the counters are all scrambled with random numbers or blank spaces. I’m hoping there was a reset procedure that may solve my problem or at least give me some ideas whether the board has other logic problems.

The NV RAM you bought may have been dead, most of them sold on EBay are dead. What was the part number on the old NV RAM and how many pins did it have?
I just found 2 tubes of 24 pin NV RAMs that may still be fresh.

ST M48Z02 is what I pulled out and the replacements (2)were identical from eBay. The thought that these may be dead crossed my mind, neither one did anything more than the original. These are 24 pin, I was thinking of maybe trying the NV ram available for the pinball machines as it’s the same 6116 configuration without a battery. I’ll post when I get around to this with the results…

The 6116 NVRAM module works well so I assume the ST nvram I got from eBay lost their batteries. Everything is good now(credits and accounting store) but the accounting started from 666666 not zero. I guess I can just count up from there so no big deal. The module I bought to replace the ST ram was from Pinitech and costs $25.

Bump, does anyone have any information on these P&M coin machines? I found a good dallas1220y ram that worked on the machine (accounting was right) but tried to read it. Now the machine does the same as with the other good nv ram I have. Accounting starts with ram clear set to 6666666. Im assuming something need to be written to the ram for it to clear properly. Any information would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure I posted the P&M manual in the downloads section.

You did, that manual is for a newer machine though. Mine are earlier around 1985

Bummer, I was lucky to get that one and will probably never find another one.

Update: I found the model number. GPB2101-13
