I would assume lease games will be returned to the manufacturer and the rest will go to auction. There's gonna be a flood of games coming though most will probably end up overseas depending on how old they are.

Well,  They won't be getting crushed,  Does not work that way.  Recently this Monday at 10pm Margaritaville closed it's doors.  They owed about 5-6 million to wms,Bally, igt, and lot's others ontop of house games etc.  the amount of machinces if leased/owned by others will send 18-wheelers to pick them up.  This particular casino had tons of high-end equipent and many leased games-willy wonka,iron-man, alpha 2's etc-you name it.  Now the house games will be offered to a broker etc. in time to come from what they tech. owe on papper owned.  As history has dictated things have a way of finding the cracks so to speak.  The companies these day are taking all the returns from throught us/etc. and making a deccsion to keep/refurb or destroy.   This is mostly, For the most part done at head quarters or a 2nd party --(2nd party with contract with which ever comp.) .  The newer the game etc. dictates the destroy at head quarters.

I'm right down the street from the AC casinos that have shuttered in the recent months.

Chairs, tables, beds, dining wear, etc. were/are being auctioned off.

Machines are going to distributors out of state, a lot of R+L trailers leaving with machines going to the mid-west and Florida (Florida based dealers usually export to Central/South America and the Caribbean).

NJ allows ownership of modern home machines setup for token only, so running them with gaming tokens is OK but real bills/coins is a no-no...this is rarely enforced but NJ law prohibits sale directly to private buyers so I have to wait until guys out of state get them.

Sucks seeing so many buildings and people out of work, on my street we have over 30 foreclosures and many suicidal former employees who lost everything. over 10,000 are out of work.

Looks like I got a few of the Showboat and trump slots at a local auction.  S2000's and Bally 6000's   I wonder if I'd played any of them last time I was in Atlantic city?  LOL

I participate in a site called Chip Talk and they said that gaming chips from AC casinos are destroyed as they treat them different than how Nevada does.
Apparently a 20 year old NJ gaming chip is still worth face value (assuming its verified) and there is a special borough to redeem them.
