Title: S plus harness issue
Post by: jonbbrew on May 04, 2022, 07:23:06 PM
I've attached for you, a drawing below that I have of the S+ coin comparitor pinouts.
Pay especially close attention to the voltage that you're reading with the multimeter on the 4th pin.

However, your code [21] would be coming from the coin-in optics board that's located directly underneath the CC, as sixcardmark is referring to.
Check to make sure that the ground wire has continuity from the main door harness connector to the pin on the Molex housing at the coin-in optics board header.
If the ground wire is broken inside of the wire covering near the pin end, you would not be able to see the break.
This is why we use multimeters to check for continuity from pin-to-pin.
A break there on the ground wire, would shoot out the [21] code onto the display.

I am trying to troubleshoot my harness issue and saw the above from another subject. New machine to me and PO stated the CC needed to be replaced. He took it out then put it back in. He handed me the harness when i went to pick up the machine. The harness broke apparently to where the XHP connector came off. In looking at the diagram, thank yo very much, it appears that i do not have a wire #2 at all. Is that not always present?

Other then that in trying to see if i can use the same XHP connector without getting a new one i want to rig it up to see if that fixes the problem before i buy a new CC. The insert coin light is lit and i noticed when i take out the sample coin the light goes off so some of the CC must work. That is without the harness connected so i am a bit puzzled.

So is it safe to assume that the #4 wire is Green and the #6 wire is black?

Thank you!

www.slotmachinerepair.com (http://www.slotmachinerepair.com) sells the IGT coin optics boards under "coin handling".

No...The only position that doesn't have any wire going into it is Pin-5, as in the drawing pictured above.

So is it safe to assume that the #4 wire is Green and the #6 wire is black?

Pin-4 should be yellow and Pin-6 is the black ground wire.

Topic split and the intro edited. Please don't hijack threads. It only adds confusion, especially to the OP when he sees replies.
Thank You.
