Don't know what Alpha you have-But -Guesing prob a early model.  All "doors" must be closed-yes -Post your error from pending on your menu and we can fix.

I can't even get to the menu board . The only error message it comes up with is mvld open door. What does that mean? I have checked all the sensors and all and still coming up with this. How can I get the the menu while this is up?

It sounds as if you have never seen this work.  Post what it is (cabinet/game/etc.) and that would be a start.  Check your Bill vallidator cash can and head assembley.  Make sure they are seated all the way. More info would be helpfull as we do not know what bally you have---many diff.  ones.

Here are the door codes:

M = MAIN DOOR OPEN
V = BILL VALIDATOR DOOR OPEN
L = LOGIC DOOR OPEN (This is the MPU switches. There are two switches in the MPU. One near the Compact Flash slots and one on the left side of the MPU)
B = BELLY DOOR OPEN

Since you are getting ALL these errors at once, there could be a couple of problems.

First thing I would try is to pull the MPU out, and put it back IN firmly. Sometimes a loose connection from the MPU and backplane can cause your door switches not to read properly... yes everything works, but it can only take a few pins not making contact to cause this error. If this machine was transported it could be the problem. This happened to me when I removed my MPU to add ram and a video card.

Second, Make sure all of your switches are plugged in and making contact so they close properly.

Check the MPU.. If locks were removed did the original owner zip tie the switches or are they open.

Let us know so we can help you.

The machine turned out to be fine it was transported. Things needed to be just tighten down that was really about it. I am new to the game in history when it comes to slot machines.  It is definitely very fascinating and very complex looking at it from a  begin our standpoint.
