hey guys hopeing to get some info on this machine ,,,,,,,not sure of call letters pe - pe + / did the normal usaual pulled all jacks and cleaned blew out what little dust it had in it orderd and installed new battery turned on -- screen came on and said game over and looked good then lettering got jumbled and tured into f-s in alot of places on screen,,,,,pic 1 not sure of where the reset switch should be for normal game play,,,, pic 2 not sure if the dip switches are in right places ,,,pic 3 hopeing some had or knows a a little about this onecant find this exact machine in any of the treads i looked at here any help would be nice |

That is a IGT Fortune one. Step one would be to remove all socketed chips, clean their legs with a pencil eraser and reinsert. |

cleaned all legs of removible chips ..inspected board looking for burns or cracks dont see any thing obivaus cant seem to get screen to diplay right i guess next step ,,is to replace the chips anybody know who has copies ? for the igt fortune 1 draw poker silver city 5 coin thanx freddie |

Those are very old TMS 2716 EPROM's. They operate with +5V, -5V, and+12V and take a special programmer. Today's programmers don't have that feature. Normally they don't cause the scrambled video. The first suspect is the 5101 RAM chip, remove it and install a socket for the replacement. The next would be the video RAM's. 2114 or 2102 depending on the board design. You will need a fast O-scope and some schematics to troubleshoot further. |
