Neat things you can do with S(+) games.
Q: What can I do to "spice" up my S+ game theme?
A: There are a couple of tricks that can be done to some of the popular game titles. These are two that are very popular.
If you have a Double Diamond, you can give it Haywire action by using the reel prom from a Double Jackpot Haywire theme. This will make some pays "Haywire" and duplicate the pays. In the S2000 platform this game is called Double Diamond Haywire.
If you have a Triple Diamond theme, you can add mystery nudge action to it by using a Triple Dollars w/Mystery reel action reel chip. This game will nudge certain symbols up or down at random.
I should note that this trick works with any of the mentioned games' clones.
Double Diamond clones include Purple Passion and Gold Mountain.
Triple Diamond clones include Triple Dollars, Triple Sapphires, and Triple Jackpot (the one with yellow 3x symbol).
Certain themes also have a Tournament version. This is where you start with a certain number of credits and play the game for a timed session or until your credits run out. The person with the most winning credits at the end wins. Q: What other peripherals can I add to my S+ machine?
A: 1. A Jackpot bell. This is a real bell that rings whenever you win.
2. Progressive system. Different kinds including the simple 7 digit behind the top glass, the Multi-Colored dot "chameleon" Mikhon types either stand-alone (1 machine) or linked (multiple machines).
3. Enhance your bill validator - If your machine only takes bill face up, you can change your validator to accept the currency 4 ways. You can also upgrade most validators to accept some of the new colored currency.
4. If you didn't know it already, you can change the game theme on your machine. So if you have a Double Diamond machine, you could change it to say a Haywire Deluxe.
5. Change denominations. If your machines takes nickels, you can change it to quarters, half dollars, dollars, etc. Any denomination to any other denomination. It may require a new hopper, coin head and coin comparitor.
Other FAQs
Q: Can you play S2000 themes on an S+?
A: Yes, some titles share the same paytable. Though you might have to do some reel offset for the symbols to line up right.

Q: What is this about a "reel offset"
A: Some of the S2000 reel strips will match S+ reel proms if you move them a symbol or two from where they land on an S2000.

Q: Can you play S+ games on an S2000?
A: Yes, you can. The reel prom from an S+ can be used with an S2000 as long as you have an SB1000 base chip for the S2000. The Reel prom also needs to be 100ns or faster. If you cannot find fast 27c64's you can use 27c512's with the c000 offset trick.
Q: What is the difference between a IGT M, S, S+, S2000, S3000?
A: They are basically the evolutionary ladder in IGT's solid state reel spinners. Back in 1983 IGT revolutionized the industry by introducing the M slot into the market. It was the first solid state (computer based) slot machine. It offered electronic sounds and light, multi-line bets, double pays, five reel games the concept of giant progressive jackpots. The S slot was the next in line, it introduced the now famous RNG and virtual stops. Now machines now had millions of spin combinations which a computer would choose thereby evading slot cheats. The S+ refined the art by adding multi-level progressives, linked progressives, a bill validator and casino auditing functions. The S2000 is a newer machine, which offers digital stereo sounds, multi-denomination, bigger displays, and even included bonus in some games like the vision titles in addition to 4th reel bonuses. IGT has introduced the S3000 platform, which is found on casino floors today.
