Anyone have any ideas about this issue: I open the door and shut it. The reels do their thing, then the machine spits out about 80 nickels and says it it empty. There are still coins in the hopper. I re open the door and it does the same thing. This is a 1985 IGT 4 reel M slot.

Crisis averted!!! I found a bent lever on the hopper connected to the little arm that count the coins on a payout. My mother in law put the hopper in but not in the slots, which caused the bent lever. I straightened the lever out and we are back in business!!
