Hello: IGT M machine I think, when you first turn machine on by main power switch, close the door, the reels kick off, then 2nd reel brakes, 1st and 3rd reel continue to spin, then it says "TILT - CALL ATTENDANT" after several times lifting the door latch, the 2nd reel will then spin, and all 3 reels will brake and insert coin light comes on and game will run normal after that. What is causing the 2nd reel to brake abruptly, and getting the tilt message?

After the tilt occurs if you turn the jackpot reset key it will tell you what the problem is. Too Fast, Too Slow, etc. The cork rollers on the reel kickers deteriorate with time and will cause reel tilt problems. Also the solder connections on the flexible ribbon cable have been known to crack and cause problems too. It's probably one of those two I suspect. You can also swap reel kickers between reels. Move #2 to a different position and see if the error follows the reel kicker. If it does then you know the problem is in the reel kicker assembly. If it doesn't then you have other problems.

Thank-you sir! I do have the replacement bearings for kick off. I watched your video also. I'll take reel assm. out tomorrow and install, I imagine original cork is still there, I did for another IGT a while back. The cork just fell apart. Thank-you again, Carl H.

hello again, are these the right replacement kickoff bearings? 1/4 x 3/4 x 1/4 open?

I installed the bearing on the middle reel kickoff arm, cleaned the reader, couple drops of Fel-Pro super lubricant on reel/shaft, and it's doing better, only tilts once or twice now when I turn machine on, and as lube gets into collar on reel/shaft it will improve maybe. My back is hurt, so anything I do is a chore, I use a service table with wheels, and lowered the reel mech on the service cart, and wheel to table where I can work on it. I can't walk with holding any weight, shoots pain in leg (sciatic). Thanks again for the instruction, been a while since I have any trouble with my IGT machines, unlike the 2 Summits I have.

Yes, that's the right size bearing. Glad you were able to get it working again. Hopefully that takes care of the problem for you, and I hope your back gets better too!
