Title: GQ-4X burner with adaptor - problem with 27c4002 eproms

i had posted a topic regarding the cksum on my s2000 files and thought that I was having an issue with my proms being corrupted.  Now I think my issue is with my burner/adaptor.  I am using ST 27C4002 eproms (new) not sure where I got them so I can't rule out they maybe bad (they do erase okay)  Here is a picture of my adaptor.  I checked with MCU and they said bad eproms or adaptor - didn't mention if I had it installed properly.

MCU solution - instead of specifying ST 27c4002 - just say ALL - then 27c4002 -  WORKS!!!!

That sounds like a bug in their GQ-4X programmer software, maybe they will get it fixed on future updates.

could be - I have had issues with ST eproms on my bytek gang burner - which hasn't been updated since 1996!!!
MCU says my software is up to date - so this issue with the ST eproms could be a bug - don't have any other manuf.  but at this point - not an issue.

It's not the burner my tl886 does it also. It is the Chinese imitation chips that don't carry the true manufacturers internal ID because they are fake but they still work.

what is the purpose of that manuf id?   Confused that a cpu doesn't care what manuf the eprom is - so why does the burner care?  In this case - the manuf didn't apply - all the burner needs to know is that it is a 27c4002 period!
