Title: Orange Pi Zero Wifi Configuration
Post by: bogan on April 27, 2020, 06:27:24 PM
Not really player tracking, but thought I would throw this up here for those that are playing with the OPi Zero for EFT (I know there few out there having a crack at it). A few people are starting to ask me about it also.

This refers to Armbian Buster with Linux 5.3.9-sunxi however the lastest realease as I type this is also the same. The lastest release also seems to fix issues with making the device a Wireless Hot Spot by running armbian-config but I will leave that till later when I have tested it a bit more.

You will also need to download Putty (or your favourite SSH client)

First thing that needs to be done, is you will have to plug the device into your router. The OPi is set up for DHCP, so your router will allocate it an IP Address. You will need to log into your router and find out what IP address its been given. Looks like this on my Router:

Once you have the IP address, connect to OPi with putty.

You will be prompted to login with your username and password. (default username is root and the password is 1234) If you are logging in with the default you will also be prompted to change passwords and set up a new user account.

Once logged in, run the command 'nmtui' or if you are logged in as root, then type 'sudo nmtui'

Select Activate a connection

Use the arrow keys to select the SSID you want to connect to and then press enter

Enter the your WiFi password and press enter.

Then press tab till you get to <Back> and press enter, then use down arrow keys to <Quit>

Once that is all done, you can type 'sudo reboot' into the command line to restart.
