Good evening. Not sure if this is in the right forum. I have another slot machine that was my dad's that we would like to get working again. From what I have learned from you all is to change the batteries. I have no idea where they are on this machine. Also they trying to change it from a $10 machine to a $2.00 machine. Any assistance as to where the batteries are would be great.

The battery would be on the MPU board inside the tray on the left wall of the cabinet.
Pull on handle straight back and out.
Make sure the power is OFF whenever removing/ installing circuit boards on your machine....I cannot stress this enuff.
Also, when you change this battery, you will lose all your settings and need special chips to re-enable the bill acceptor.
So allow me to ask you a question first...>>>
1). What exact messages do you see on the blue VFD display when you DO turn on the power switch?
2). If that's too hard, can you make a short video with your phone of the machine booting-up, upload it to your youtube account, facebook or wherever and give us a link to the video or post it here?

Not sure if this is in the right forum.
Moved to IGT S2000 forum.

You will need to change the top glass if you want the payouts to match a $2 denom. A glass showing credits instead of dollar amounts would be best.

The battery(s) are located on the MPU board which is on the left side of the machine and has a small handle on the front. Pull that out and hopefully it doesn't have a green varta battery installed that leaked on the board. Post some pictures of it once you have it removed.

Good day, Ok here is the information I have. When you boot the system up it says RAM Error. There what looks like 2 different batteries. I attached pictures of the CPU board and the batteries. There was this paper of instructions inside the machine no clue what they are for? You mentioned cards to reset the machine. What are the card number(s) needed? That is really all I have. It can stay at 10.00/bet. Just want to get it up and running. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

See that green ribbed battery? That's the varta, you don't need it. get it off that board before it kills it. See the battery with the yellow plastic circle around it? That one you need. desolder and replace with a fresh battery.

There is damage under that varta battery.

Thank you everyone. I will get it removed. That damage under the Varta could that have already destroyed the board? How do I know for sure if It did or didn't. The other battery I will also get replaced but Someone stated that I need to reset the entire system with cards. Can someone tell me please what cards I need?

Often the damage to traces effect the Door logic. So if you have a Door Open M or Door Open MB error and the main and bill validator doors are closed, then you've got damaged circuit traces.
I'm not sure who told you that, but they're not correct. Have you checked the main battery voltage? Normally if it is bad the system will tell you so, you'll get a Main Battery Low error message on the VFD.

Even if there is damage under the Varta, it can probably be repaired. The picture you posted looks pretty good. Not a lot of damage around the battery. After you remove it, post a close up of the area.

If you need to send the board to have the batteries removed and/or replaced Lookes is your guy.
He can also repair any damage from the Varta if needed.
He has done several for me, and his work is excellent.
