Title: Be careful about buying used Adastra video processor boards.
Post by: Stayouttadabunker on February 04, 2021, 02:58:51 PM
I'm worried about members getting ripped off buying used WMS BB2 parts.

Look below at this video processor chip's condition I seen for sale at $240.00 and free shipping!! :rotfl:
They call these video cards "Adastra" and charging top dollar for them.

The thermal heat sink is ripped off of the main video processor chip and the gray thermal paste is dry, cracked and hardened.
That signifies a possible burned out video processor chip.

These sellers are removing the thermal heat sink that's is supposed to be on them but they are removing them so that way you don't see the clogged fan that was on top of the heat sink fins.

This board has been severely over-heated and the capacitors on the main board are just about shot and over-stressed from trying to shoot amps to get these fan moving to cool off anything.

Avoid these cards in this condition like the plague!

It's amazing what some people try to pass off as "good" or "working" condition.

I see a lot of that stuff on Ebay. I tend to stay away from sellers if I don't recognize them as either being members here or having a good reputation on the site.

But our members should always ask here first before taking a chance on someone else's garbage.
