Title: Help!!!
Post by: bally bob on December 30, 2019, 03:12:46 PM
Have a CEI Casino Poker 906III Turbo + with a 911 motherboard. Just hit 4 Jacks, came up call attendant enter user ID. When I hit a Royal Flush a while back entered user ID 4648 and it reset. When I pressed the hand pay button inside machine and enter 4648 and held 5th hold button to exit, it didn't reset. Is there a different user ID for 4 Jacks? Thanks for any help.

Have you tried all the other codes from when you got the Royal flush?

Went back through my file for this machine. Found some additional codes, like I said the 4648 didn't work for me. Tried 1492, 1799, 1086 and 5615. Pulled out the motherboard and plugged it back in same thing. Screen say call attendant hand pay and plays a couple of musical notes over and over. Press the hand pay button inside machine and it ask for User ID a 4 digit number.

Try 0338 ?

0338 didn't work either. Enter that number then I "press hold 5 to exit" and it returns to 0 0 0 0 back to the start.

Badbaud: the download you sent referred to a MUX error, don't have that or is it related to my problem? Already tried the 2 numbers listed in your download before with no success. I assume my 4 Jacks hand pay win is being stored by the battery when the machine is shut off. So if I pull the board and disconnect the battery it will be gone?

Just pull the RAM chip and crash it on some bare metal for a minute or two.

Not so sure I want to do that every time I get 4 of a kind. Hopefully someone know the 4 number ID for my machine or how to reprogram one. Surely that can be done.

Is there no jackpot reset key on the side of the machine?

Sorry I didn't get back sooner, was out of town. Yes my machine has 2 keyed switches on the side. Both are wired in, connected, top one is spring loaded, turns to the right and springs back to the center. Bottom switch has 3 positions, center to enter and remove key, right and left fixed positions. My hand pay button inside the machine works. When call attendant and music tones play come up, pressing the hand pay button activates the User ID 4 digit screen. Again entering 4648 (the ID that worked for a Royal Flush) and pressing the 5th hold button just returns you to the User ID screen to reenter an ID. Is this the proper procedure? On my IGT I use the key switch on the side. How are the key switches used on this machine? Have never used them before. Thanks again for any help.

The spring loaded one should be for jackpot reset, the other one, 2 way, was for meter reading in the casino.

You've tried all th code numbers I have, and more. Never encountered a machine that requires different IDs for different hits: it's supposed to be per Casino, not per payoff.Anyway, if you don't actually require play memory to be retained after shutoff, you might just disco the battery: clip the lead. Unlike most other machines, dead battery does not affect play with a CEI. I have one been running 6 years on a 906 board with no battery.  When a 4-up is hit, I just turn it off for a moment.

I thought I could disconnect the battery to reset it. Will probably just connect up the battery with a mini switch for any future wins and still give it the ability to store credits after a reset.

Since 4 numbers are required, I guess there would be 9,999 combinations to try. Don't think I'll do that. Since I reset it with 4648 before, must be some else causing my problem. Do have the key reset on side of machine, will give that another try in a different sequences with the numbers. I don't remember using the key set when I reset it before. I guess in the meantime I can play another machine or go to a casino.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Update. Pulled the board and unsoldered one end of battery. Slid the board back in and it didn't seem to like not having a battery connected. In Birth Mode said: bad test bytes at 4998. Was able to move around between dispute mode, audit mode, learn mode, fault list and birth game. But game didn't want to start back up. So pulled board and re-solder end of battery again. Reseated board, same as above, pulled board again and reseated it firmly. Then was able to start the game and it played fine. However played for a few minutes and was deal 4 kings. Only held 3, didn't want to go through it again. Future solution for me, next time I need to reset for a hand pay. I have a mini momentary contact switch which I will solder to one end of the battery. Just open the machine and press the button if I can't again get the User IDs to work. Again thanks for all the suggestions, its up and runniing.

That'll work. If you aren't using both ourside-accessible key locks, pull one out to let it dangle inside, and install your new "reset" switch in that hole. That way you won't need a key, or to open the machine.
And by the way, how come you get 4-up so often? Man, I wish mine gave me one more than once a year! :Scratch-Head:

Yah, going on a trip to Las Vegas next month, never get 4 of kind there.

Just a quick note. Unbelievable just sat down to play the machine again. Drew 3 Kings, thought no way on a 4th again. Sure enough 4 Kings again. But got lucky pay off was only 125 coins, instead 400 hand pay with the 4 Jacks, so the 125 coins was paid from the hopper. May be I shouldn't wait until next month to go to Vegas.
