Cash Casette Removal
« on: June 15, 2021, 08:29:06 AM »
Is there a trick to get the cash cassette out of the bill validator if you don't have the cash cassette extractor?  (SG150B)

I think the guy I got the slot from probably had this at one point and lost it or didn't know what it was when he sold me the slot.  Luckily I only have $1 in there.   :rotfl:

Reading through the old site I found a reply to a different topic that answered how to do this.  An old credit card.

For anyone who needs to know, you just stick the credit card in one side and gently angle the cash box out on that side, then carefully stick it in the other side (make sure not to let the first side go back in and latch again) and pull the whole thing out.  Very easy.

I may 3D print a little doohickey to emulate this so people don't wonder why I have a credit card laying on the machine.  :)

You can tape an old gift card or plastic something to the side(s) and just put the can back in. That way it just pulls out, home use probably no big deal unless you have to lock it and keep the kids from emptying the big piggy bank. 😉

You can fix almost any electronic device by replacing the aluminum electrolytic capacitors.
