Title: hopper was blowing fuse
Post by: puckhead on August 25, 2017, 01:58:46 PM
ive got a ball low boy EM, not sure what model. the hopper is the newer style, no float, no stepper on the back.  the guy i got it from says it would blow a fuse when it payed out, and then he saw smoke. he sent the hoipper out to a shop, and they set it back says it tested out ok. anyway,  it was over fused
( 10 amps) and i did see smoke. looked like it was coming out of the safety timer area, or the back of the hopper. i pulled the hopper, and the big blue capacitor was very hot.. i mean hot.  i checked the timer, it moves, and the switch works. i put the hopper back, and now it seems ok, paying out.  dont see any crispy wires. ever see anything like this?

ps- also i posted about looking for new female beau plug inserts, thats a different machine.

thanks
