Can anyone direct me to where I might find something to help troubleshoot?
I am getting a "Dot Fail" error message.
It was working at one time on free play, but when I switched to credits, would not register inserted coins.
I had to give my attention elsewhere for a time, but when I came back and turned it on, I get a Dot Fail message and the upper screen reads "Calling Attendant".
From what I can tell, it gets power from down below.

You have mentioned at least 2 problems. The Dot Fail could be a few things but if it was previously working and you did not change anything with the eproms, then more than likely, your upper power supply (in the DMD box) is failing.
As for it not registering coins, you should try repositioning your sample coin in your coin comparator, or try a known working one.
