Has anybody encountered this problem and possibly found a fix?
Spread the boards out on the bench and connect them to the 3 card rack tester and the boards work perfectly.
Bolt them together and re-connect to the tester and coin in doesn't work anymore.
Bet max and all other buttons work fine.
Using key pad and going into input test then pressing coin in button and coin in is seen toggling properly.
Tried the same rack on another 3 card rack tester with the same result.
Any ideas?

Ribbon cable has a bad connection or break in the ribbon?
-
Not that, took the cables off of 3 good racks and tried them with the same result.
-
Would it have anything to do with the way the boards are connected with the corner supports causing a ground, or lack of one? Possibly a crackd board causing a trace to open up on the board when bolted together?
-
I thought of that but the boards work fine when separated.
Cleaned all of the ground contacts on the boards and the metal posts that connect them plus the individual bolts with no success.
Separated the boards and ran alligator jumpers from board ground to board ground and they still worked fine.
Called Bally tech who used to work on 3 card racks and he had never heard of such a problem.

Weird?? Do you have any other boards you could swap out one at a time to see if you can narrow it down to a seperate/single board?
-
Is there a reed switch on any of the boards that loses connection when right side up due to gravity?
-
No.

Did a SWAG and re-pinned the main Molex power plug and the damn rack started working.
