Title: Sit down cabinet kits
Post by: arnold on September 17, 2015, 07:25:38 PM
I wonder if anyone could tell me all that I need from the bally m9000 to put it in a sitdown cabinet (harness, power, cpu, software, etc.  Is there any brand (konami, atronic, bally, wms, etc) that is easier to work with for sit down installation.  By easier I mean not needing clear chips, hundred yards of harness, 50 boards, etc.

Thanks,
Arnold

Why not just buy a slant top machine if you just want to do that anyway.  They are probably less expensive than the uprights as they are less popular in the home market.  Or is it that you already have an upright and want to convert it to a slant?  Are you going to build your own cabinet?  Theoretically if you build it right, you should be able to use everything inside an upright cabinet and "make it fit" on a custom made "sit down" cabinet.

For the record, all slot platforms need some kind of either a clear or a key chip when changing games or after a battery is changed.  Sometimes you can get away with changing the game software without them, but it is no predictable.  The Bally alpha series needs a clear to change games or if you need to replace the batteries in the mpu.
