how hard to convert an s plus sb anthony machine to quarters? coin guide change ? hopper wheel? anything else?
thanks

The shelf wheel should do it. 25c & SBA optic encoder is the same unless you have a really old one. Coin head back has slightly larger opening but it will work for 25c. SBA backs are hard to find. Shelf wheel is too.

I think a 50 cent shelf wheel will work??
misread the post, shelf wheel would be the part to change, also depends on what pin wheel is in the hoppper.

You want to convert to quarters, correct ?
My first question would be, are you sure it is really setup for sb Anthony now ? Maybe it is really setup for quarters and somebody just changed the coin in the comparator ?
Seems to me a 50 cent shelf wheel is going in the wrong direction. A quarter is slightly smaller than a SBA.
I would simply change the coin in the comparator and try that first and see if it works. Might be all you need to do.

I would have to think that the SB Dollars would work just fine using a quarter setup. I remember when they first came out. I used one as a quarter in a vending machine. I didn’t do it on purpose, just reached in my pocket for a quarter and forgot it was in there. I was so mad at my self. I even tried to get it back using the coin reject button on the vending machine, but by then it was in the coin box. .. :duh:

no SBA will not work on a quarter setup, i just converted one of my quarter to SBA, couldnt find parts though, i had to file coin head to make the coin fit, and had to have about 1/8 machined off the shelfwheel, otherwise the SBA will not fit/sit flat on the pinwheel
no on the other hand i could take all my SBA out of the machine and put quarters in it and it works fine
so a sba setup will take quarters with out an issue

well, its future info. i missed out on the machine
