I received this video poker machine as a gift. It is currently not working and I would like to get it working. When turning the machine on the main lights come on but not the screen or button lights. I have no audio either. I verified the fuses are not blown. The battery has been replaced already and I have verified the voltage. The screen does not flicker or anything when turning on. I have tried holding the reset button multiple times and turning the reset jackpot button. I am stuck and would like any advice on what I should try next before I give up.

My first thought is the monitor is probably bad. You can sometimes hear the static charge buildup from the high voltage section when the monitor is turned on and feel it on the front of the CRT. See if you can detect anything when you turn it on.

I would assume that too but wouldnt I have button and sounds response while hitting the buttons? Even if the monitor was faulty?

Not necessarily. It probably has an error that needs to be cleared but you can't see what it is. Does the candle light blink?

Assuming that is the light on top? Yes it blinks constantly

That's a good sign. The MPU is booting up then (it's what makes the candle flash). Your monitor is probably bad. Pull it out and inspect it for any signs of obvious damage like burnt components and cracked solder joints (especially around the flyback transformer connections). Also note the make/model and maybe someone can help you fix it.

Could you please provide a good hi-res picture of the chip covered in RED tape. Also of the graphics chips label and little like green-blue chip. Or maybe tell us what they say. Thanks!

Yes see attached photos. It is the highest resolution allowed. Let me know if that helps. Also noticed all my dip switches in off. Will this effect anything? If so what should they be in? Thanks for all your help guys! Im new to this!

When you have time, read up because there will be another issue in the future. This site was designed to both help people when they're stuck and to provide the information you need to own a slot machine as they are not user friendly, like your iPhone. :yes:

Here is another quick question. I found an unused plug at the ps. I have not found any loose plugs or wires where it would go. My manual does not help in the slightest and its super generic.

I was attempting to read my manual but did not find any pin outs or schematics giving me the power in to the screen. Does anyone have this info? I want to make sure my power in is good.
