Hello,
I was given an IGT S2000 for free by my brother. The bill validator used to work but he said that before he gave it to me, it would only work intermittently. I've replaced the coin battery on the main board and checked to see if I was getting 13 volts from the power supply cord that plugs into the back of the BV. When I turn the machine on, I only get 1 led light to turn on, it looks like the second light blinks for a quick second but never stays on. The BV does not make any noise and I can't get it into test mode. I've been looking through all the posts and can't figure out how to get this working. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

If it did work, that tells me your settings are possibly ok. Does the machine function otherwise, provided it takes coins?
For starters, please carefully pull out your MPU (power off!) and post one good photo, for the experts that are about to chime in.
Then firmly plug it back in.

Thanks for the reply. It does not take coins. When I power it on, the reels spin and it looks like everything else is working. The BV just does not function and the BV bezel is not lit. Attached is the photo that you requested.
Thanks!

I wanted to make sure the green Varta battery was gone... and it is. You don't need it. They cause bad problems and are not needed for home use.
Check to make sure the bill box is fully seated. Pull it out first and inspect the area where it meshes in. Check to make sure there's nothing jammed, bent, broken, in that entire area. Power back up and see what happens.

I've checked the cash box and it seems to seat nicely. The two black "teeth" come up in the back. It also looks like the white switch behind the cash box has been bypassed. There's nothing hooked up to the two prongs. Would the fact that only one led is on by the dip switches mean anything?

regardless of the the rest of the machine is doing, when power is applied to the bill unit the two red leds should be on solid, if not then something is wrong with the unit. don't waste your time doing anything else until you have two solid red leds on constantly.
sunrise side on NLG can test and repair these units, I would contact him.
Hope this helps
