Installing a Widescreen monitor in a standard Viridian cabinet
« on: December 31, 2022, 11:06:48 AM »
I wanted to install a widescreen layout monitor into a standard Viridian cabinet. I tried to use a 19" widescreen monitor but found out that the resolution on a 19" monitor was not high enough for some of the games I wanted to install. It seems that some of the games, even with a GT630 card, still were not happy. They require that the monitor be capable of a 1920x1080 resolution.
I found an Acer monitor model #VS228H at the local GoodWill store. It has HDMI and DVI inputs. I ran two cables to it so it is easy to use both the GT430 card (DVI) for the older games and the GT630 card (HDMI) for newer games.
I removed the old monitor and the plexiglass from the trim bezel.

I have attached pictures of how i mounted it and the mount i used. It is a standard computer monitor wall mount I got from Amazon.

Thought i would pass this along if someone else wanted to do the same.

Thanks, Justin
