Title: Bally Alpha API
Post by: larrydanna on March 21, 2017, 11:18:59 AM
Hey y'all

Does anyone have any info regarding the Bally Alpha API or tools used to create game software?

I am a software developer and would like to make my own games for my Alpha Cabinets.

Thanks !

Proprietary gaming information.  There's no way Bally would ever disclose a development kit of any kind unless you were one of their developers.  Anything that has to do with gaming is highly regulated and people not associated with the manufacturer through partnerships or business relationships is unlikely to ever have access to that kind of information.  Just imagine the security breaches associated with that kind of knowledge.

That makes sense.

Are there any 'open source' cabinet projects out there?

That could be fun, too.

If it has to do with regulated gaming no.   I suppose you could use an alpha cabinet, and just make the necessary hardware changes like using an iPac for the buttons and then a regular PC.  Then you could make your own games with any kind of dev system.
